Yesterday we gathered in a rather wet Oxford for the second Affirming Liberalism Day Conference – A Credible Faith for Growing Churches. We had two speakers covering very different topics. Firstly Keith Ward gave us an interesting lecture exploring the whole science and religion debate, and in the afternoon Martyn Percy talked about why Liberal Churches are growing. We were also pleased to welcome the Bishop of Oxford, John Pritchard to our afternoon session. In amongst that we also enjoyed a service in the historic surroundings of the University Church of St Mary, and shared lunch in either Lincoln or Exeter colleges. Participants avodart generic walgreens came from a large area, well beyond the Oxford Diocese, and indeed from other denominations, not just the Anglican Church.
Transcripts for both lectures will be available on this site shortly, as will recordings (although due to a technical failure we did not get a recording of the end of either the Martyn Percy talk, or the questions that followed). The Flickr group is available for participants to upload their pictures of the day. A slideshow of pictures from the group (which includes pictures of the first conference also) can be seen below.
